1) PICKWASTE
1) PICKWASTE
Overview
After Dillon finished high school, he co-founded a community organization with his buddy Sam to help clean up our planet called PickWaste (featured on CBC, CTV, and CityNews). The group makes an impact by hosting clean-ups and inspiring students across Canada to do the same. It started in July of 2017 with four friends but has quickly spread throughout the community and country.
From 2017 – 2021, PickWaste hosted over 320 community clean-ups collecting over 3100 bags of litter in the City of Pickering and expanded to two other cities across Canada. The community organization has provided an estimated 6000 meaningful volunteer hours to local high school students.

2) OUTDOOR FITNESS CIRCUIT
2) OUTDOOR FITNESS CIRCUIT
Overview
For the work Dillon and his co-founder, Sam, did in the Pickering community with PickWaste, they were rewarded a $10,000 grant! Dillon and Sam wanted to leave a lasting impact on the youth in their community, so they decided to fund the build of an outdoor fitness circuit. Dillon strongly believes that strength training and callisthenics are not only useful to one’s physical health but are significantly beneficial for one’s mental health and stress management. However, he understands that not everyone has the financial resources to purchase a gym membership; that is why this park is available to the public free of charge. The circuit includes parallel bars, plyometric boxes, a balance plank, knee lift, joint use-station, push-up bars and hurdles.
